Turmeric + Black Pepper = The Power Couple
Turmeric is a much-loved root in Ayurveda because of its incredible medicinal properties, most of which are derived from its chief constituent, curcumin.
The only problem is that our body doesn't have the mechanism to completely utilize curcumin on its own. That's where black pepper comes in.
Black pepper derives its properties mainly from a compound named piperine. And in the presence of this compound, the bioavailability of curcumin in your body increases by almost 2000%! Talk about the perfect couple.

Benefits of Cardamom in Spiced Turmeric Milk
Cardamom is an odd spice. You either love it or you hate it. And even if you love it, you tend to develop a taste for it only over time. Maybe that's why it is the third-most-expensive spice in the world, after saffron and vanilla!

Cardamom boosts your metabolism and stimulates your appetite, which is more important when you are sick because loss of appetite is a symptom common to most illnesses.
